Devastation in Denning Arkansas
At least three killed by tornadoes in Arkansas
May 25, 2011
(Reuters) - At least three people died in Arkansas when tornadoes hit the region late on Tuesday and early Wednesday, officials said.
There were two confirmed deaths in Franklin County and one in Johnson County, said Renee Preslar, deputy public information officer at the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.
Johnson County Sheriff Jimmy Dorney said there was another death in the county but could not confirm whether it was storm-related. At least 10 were injured in the western Arkansas county, he said.
The National Weather Service reported that a large tornado devastated the town of Denning, in Franklin County, just south of Altus, known for its vineyards and Arkansas wine. Denning has a population of about 200.

STORMS: Clydene's Email 4-28-2011
April 28, 2011
Hi My friends, It has been a hectic week so far with so Many storms.
Last night about 6:30 a tornado went right over the top of us. I saw the swirling black clouds and heard the roar. Once again it didn't set down on the ground until 20 minutes later on over toward Little Rock. It started out at FT Smith about 50 miles from us and traveled overhead for about 70 miles before it set down. After it passed over us we got golf ball size hail that covered our yard like snow. It beat on our metal roof like hammers. It is storming today so the roof hasn't been checked we'll have to get someone to check it. They said this morning that tornadoes would be the worst yet today but so far it has been nothing but thunderstorms and wind. . I was calm all last night but then I couldn't sleep. I hope all is good with you. I'm sending some pics. Clydene
